UAE is home to three State-funded universities and 50 other private and local universities and institutions considered among the best in the gulf region. Founded in 1976 by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a public university that currently enrolls 13,000 Emirati and international students. The university is situated in the emirate of Al Ain.



Established in 2007 by presidential decree to offer a broader range of engineering programs to the nation’s budding engineers. The university is located in the capital of the country, Abu Dhabi, with student representation of more than 50 nationalities.



Founded in 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education has accredited AUS in the United States of America since June 2004 with student representation of more than 90 nationalities on campus. The university is located in the heart of the University City in Sharjah.



Founded in 1998 and proudly bearing the name of the Founder of the Nation – the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This public university is located in Abu Dhabi.


Established in 1997 and located in the emirate of Sharjah. Student representation in the university has more than 100 student nationalities with 60% of its community are international students.




Established in 2003, the university is the largest private university in the UAE and located in Abu Dhabi.



Established in 1988 as the first private university in the GCC, Ajman University (AU) also was the first university in the UAE to admit expatriate students and is situated in the Northern Emirates in Ajman.



Established in 1995. AUD is a private, academically and culturally inclusive institution of higher learning, providing a globally recognized American education. The university is located in Dubai.



NYU Abu Dhabi is a research university with a fully integrated liberal arts and science college. NYU's agreement with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to create NYU Abu Dhabi is the outcome of a common belief in the value of a liberal arts education, and benefits a research university brings to the society.



Founded in 1988, the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) is the UAE’s largest applied higher educational institution, and the nation’s first approved university economic free zone. This public university has campuses in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah.
